Jaiprakash Associates updates on sale of Gujarat Cement Plant

Infrastructural industrial conglomerate Jaiprakash Associates Ltd on Thursday said that the sale transaction of Gujarat Cement Plant, which was owned by Jaypee Cement Corporation Ltd a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, has been completed on June 12, 2014. In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company informed, “With reference to the earlier letter dated September 11, 2013, December 07, 2013 and April 29, 2014, the transaction relating to the sale of Gujarat Cement Plant owned by the Company's wholly owned subsidiary, Jaypee Cement Corporation Ltd, has been consummated on June 12, 2014.” Meanwhile, shares of the company closed at Rs 81.35 a piece, down 2.34 per cent from previous close on BSE.
